Melissa Cook Veterinary Physiotherapy

Testimonials

“My border collie had an accident several years ago. He has since started having treatment from Melissa and his pain level and mobility have improved noticeably. It has made a big difference to his quality of life. He also loves going to see her and her rapport with him is obvious.”

Kirsty, Battle

Melissa came to the rescue when my British Bulldog knocked a heavy lamp over on himself resulting in a back injury. He was unable to walk with both legs on one side giving way. Following the vets treatment to manage the pain they advised a course of physiotherapy with Melissa. We all feared that he wouldn’t recover from this trauma but we decided to try the physio with Melissa, she kindly agreed to undertake home visits. She gently, but firmly manipulated his joints and spine, he certainly tolerated this, and after several sessions looked like he was enjoying the massage. Melissa demonstrated the necessary manipulations to me and we carried out the treatment between her sessions. The effect was remarkable, we could see the strength and movement gradually improving, although his back paw still had a tendency to ‘knuckle’. Again Melissa addressed this problem, with us continually correcting the errant paw in between.

She then combined the physio with laser treatment on his back We have kept up the joint movements and massage since.
I would highly recommend this animal physiotherapy service; Mellissa is calm, gentle and confident with animals. Her knowledge of joints and the skeletal structure is impressive, resulting in positive treatment sessions but above all the best results
